When you think about college, are you…
- Excited or Fearful
- Confident or Confused
- Assured or Nervous
Whatever it is that you are feeling, you are not alone!
Let’s face it…starting college can be scary and there is nothing more comforting than being in a room full of other students who are starting the same journey as you are.
Attending orientation is a great way to learn how to successfully navigate through college, to gain information about student support programs, and to explore your educational opportunities. This is also the time when you can ask questions about the “getting in” process and get clarification on what you should be doing next.
Also, aside from orientation, you are welcome to attend other activities that are geared for first-time students. For example, for high school students preparing to attend college, there is an event called “Senior Saturdays” as well as a summer program called “Summer Success Academy.” These activities will help you to make a smooth transition from high school to college.
